Description: <abstract>A number of mines were noted and marked on the first edition Ordinance Maps (1842) however many of these have unfortunately disappeared today with some being marked as ‘disused’. In total nine mines marked on the Ordnance Survey maps were still in fair condition today and were merited as worth surveying. The Mining Association of Ireland had also noted features relating to these mines in aspects of their ongoing research.</abstract> <purpose>Part of the Industrial Heritage Review of County Clare.
